I’m really excited for you all to hear this. I wanted to make a big, expansive rock n roll record, and here it is. The title, We’ll Make It Up As We Go, is a great description of how these songs were written. I spent many evenings just hitting the record button and seeing what came out. That’s the genesis of this material. Some of the songs as you’ll here them are the very first time they were ever played.

I was fortunate enough to have some tremendously talented people perform with me on these tracks.

Emily McKenna and Donna Roth did some beautiful backing vocal tracks. Emily is a really talented young woman. She sings and plays several instruments, and she has a bright future in music. Donna has graced my recordings for years and always finds the right harmonies.

I got to play briefly in the past with Joe Padula, and I’m glad that I was able to work again with Joe here. He did a great layered track on “Dream Big”.

Rob Tanico did these amazing, rock solid bass tracks and found grooves I didn’t know were there. Oh yeah, he sang a bit too. I’ve known Rob for many years and have always been a fan of his playing and singing. It was a privilege to have him play on my songs.

P.k. Lavengood, holy shit man. PK came in, and nailed everything in ONE take. The only exception was a song I sprung on him at the last minute. That one took a whole 3 takes. What a tremendous talent. Every time I listen to these tracks, I am blown away by PK’s parts.

Frankie McGrath, I love you man. You bring the best vibe always, and this project wouldn’t have been the same if you weren’t a part of it.

Robert Nicol, it’s easy for me to take for granted how good you are, as we have played together for so many years, but you really played great. You are the most dedicated musician I’ve ever known, thanks for sharing your talents with me for so many years.

Last, but not least, a huge thank you to Kelly McGrath for writing lyrics for 4 of the songs. Her words felt as natural to sing for me as my own. I look forward to many more songs with you.

Thanks SO much to all of you for sharing your time and talents with me. It really means the world to me, and I can’t thank you all enough.

So, my hope for this is that you’ll pick up a copy. I hope that you’ll enjoy it. And, if you do, I hope that you’ll help spread the word. I don’t have any big budget. Just me, in my basement, with some friends, making music. Just like the old days.
